Medical Clinic Services Offered

Our Rural Health Clinic provides comprehensive healthcare for individuals who lack access to medical services due to economic or social barriers. Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical support staff offer a full range of quality services. The Clinic accepts most insurance including Medi-Cal, Medicare, CMSP, self-pay and private insurance.

Tehama County Health Services Agency is committed to a healthy community through the use of health education, prevention, assessment, early intervention and treatment with follow-up.

The Well-Child Exams is a preventive program that delivers periodic health assessments and services to low-income children and youth in California. This provides care coordination to assist families with medical appointment scheduling, transportation, and access to diagnostic and treatment services. Health assessments are provided by enrolled private physicians, local health departments, community clinics, managed care plans, and some local school districts.

  • Health and Developmental History
  • Complete Physical Examination
  • Oral Health Assessment
  • Nutrition Assessment
  • Behavioral Assessment
  • Immunizations as Appropriate for Age
  • Vision Screening
  • Hearing Screening
  • Laboratory Testing
  • Health Education and Anticipatory Guidance

Eligibility:

  • Medi-Cal Recipients from age Birth-21 years old
  • Non-Insured Children from age Birth-19 years old who fall under 200% of the Federal Income Guidelines

Health Care Options (HCO) is part of the California Department of Health Care Services. HCO’s role is to assure access to health care through an enrollment broker contractor. The contractor gives information to Medi-Cal beneficiaries about managed care plans. This helps beneficiaries make informed choices about their Medi-Cal benefits. The plans may include medical and dental care services.
Main functions:

  • Coordinate activities in the managed care counties that include outreach and education in Social Service and Community-Based Organization locations
  • Give oversight of informing materials mailed to beneficiaries
A representative is present at the Medical Clinic every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.

The Medical Unit of the Tehama County Jail is comprised of a Supervisory Nurse, Registered Nurse(s) and/or Licensed Vocational Nurses and a Certified Medical Assistant. A medical practitioner (MD, DO, FNP, or PA) sees inmates twice a week for any medical concerns.

The Tehama County Juvenile Detention Facility is provided with medical services three times a week by a medical practitioner (MD, DO, FNP or PA), assisted by a Certified Medical Assistant.
