California Children’s Services (CCS)

Tehama County Health Services Agency is committed to a healthy community through the use of health education, prevention, assessment, early intervention and treatment with follow-up. Our Children’s services division caters to our youngest residents.

CSS Services & Eligibility

Special medical needs such as:

  • Physical limitations
  • Persistent chronic conditions and
  • Children with certain diseases.

We also work closely with area schools and operate a Medical Therapy Program which provides Physical and Occupational Therapy services to qualifying clients at the medical Therapy Unit located at Vista Preparatory Academy.

  • Under 21 years of age
  • Participants must have a qualifying medical condition.
    Examples of qualifying conditions include but are not limited to:

    • heart disease
    • diabetes
    • traumatic injuries
    • severe hearing loss and more.
  • A California resident
  • Meets one of the following criteria:

    • Medi-Cal, with full benefits
    • Family income of $40,000 or less
    • Out-of-pocket medical expenses expected to be more than 20 percent of family’s adjusted gross income
    • Need for an evaluation to find out if there is a health problem covered by CCS
    • Adopted with a known health problem that is covered by CCS
    • Need for the Medical Therapy Program
