The
Tehama County Pandemic Influenza
Program was established in 2006 to
prepare Tehama County for a pandemic
influenza emergency. The purpose
of pandemic influenza preparedness
and response planning is to lessen
the impact of an influenza pandemic
on the residents of Tehama County
results in a decrease in morbidity,
mortality, and civil and social disruptions.
Pandemic influenza preparedness and
response planning addresses the activities
and the agencies involved in preparing
and responding to a public health
emergency. Subjects of importance
in planning for and responding to
a pandemic emergency include: emergency
operations, disease surveillance,
health care, community disease control
and prevention, disease management,
medical surge planning, risk communication,
public education, legal authorities
for enforcing public health orders,
and incorporating essential services
into continuity planning. |
