Mental
Health Division
Overview

| The
Mental Health Division serves
residents of Tehama County who
are experiencing emotional problems,
including depression and anxiety,
or more serious illnesses such
as schizophrenia and bipolar
disorder. We serve any person
in crisis because of mental health
problems, adults with serious
and persistent mental disorders,
and children (up to age 18) with
serious emotional disability
or who are at risk of not making
appropriate developmental progress
because of emotional problems. |

Health is committed to providing
services that are recovery based,
utilizing practices that are
individualized, culturally appropriate
and focus on positive outcomes.
Mental Health Services Act (MHSA)
programs are in development to
further these goals. |

Mental Health Services |
| |
- 24-hour telephone or walk-in
crisis intervention. Information,
referral and up to 23 hours of
crisis stabilization.

| |
- Linkage to psychiatric inpatient
hospitals, if necessary.
|
| |

| |
- A full system of care approach,
including individual, group and
family counseling.
|
| |
|
| |
- Dual diagnosis services for
clients with mental health and
substance abuse issues.
|
| |

| |
- Rehabilitation Services provides social and rehabilitation therapy, with a focus
on personal independence and functioning.
|

|
| |
- School-based mental health services
to youth with mental health treatment
needs as identified by Department
of Education and Mental Health staff.
|

| |
- Specialized dual diagnosis services
to youth with mental health and substance
abuse treatment needs as identified
by Tehama County Probation Department
and Mental Health staff.
