Perinatal
Substance Abuse Program
(PSAP) |
|
| |
The
Perinatal Substance Abuse Program is a
voluntary program designed to provide services
for pregnant and post-partum women of children
0 – 1 years of age who are struggling
with substance abuse and/or alcohol abuse
issues. PSAP is made possible by a grant
through Tehama County Children First Commission
(Tehama 1st Five) and is a collaborative
effort between the Public Health and Drug
and Alcohol Divisions and health care providers
in Tehama County.
PSAP Staff, which includes
an RN and a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, encourage
a healthy pregnancy and delivery of a substance-free
infant, and assist the family in providing
a safe home environment for all family members.
PSAP Staff also provide evaluations and referrals
to drug and alcohol services for family members,
if applicable. |
